Shannon Allen

Senior Grant Writer, Major Gifts

Shannon supports PFI’s marketing and fundraising efforts by crafting compelling donor-facing proposals, impact narratives and country-specific prospectuses that communicate the transformative work of its global programs. She specializes in grant strategy, persuasive storytelling and collaborative content development to ensure alignment with donor interests and organizational mission.

Shannon is deeply inspired by the way Prison Fellowship International lives out the Gospel—reaching the “one” the world has forgotten, just as the Lord, our Shepherd, leaves the ninety-nine to bring back the one who is lost (Luke 15:4). She sees the transformative power of Jesus at work as more and more prisoners are turning their lives over to Christ, reminding her that when He returns, countless souls, many considered the least by the world’s standards will be reconciled to Him (Matthew 25:40).

Prior to joining PFI, Shannon supported global health programs at USAID, leading efforts to advance early-stage biomedical product development research and manage donor-funded portfolios totaling $300M.

Shannon holds a PhD in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree in Applied Molecular Physiology from Chicago State University. She lives in Dumfries, VA and enjoys roller skating, American football, hiking and biking and most of all, deepening her relationship with our Lord and Savior.
