Prison Fellowship International intentionally and proactively strives to adhere to acceptable financial and fundraising practices. As such, we are a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA), an accreditation organization dedicated to helping Christian ministries earn the public’s trust through adherence to stewardship best practices related to board governance, financial transparency, integrity in fundraising, and proper use of charity resources.
We work diligently to invest the maximum resources into our programs, and are mindful to minimize our administration and fundraising costs. Our overhead rate (overhead expenses as a percent of operating revenue) is 20.53%, which is calculated based on our consolidated statement of activities. It is important to note that we are temporarily investing a higher percentage of resources into staff development, program infrastructure, and ministry advancement efforts to ensure PFI is building adequate capacity and raising the necessary resources to effectively deliver impact-based services to our beneficiaries. Our goal is to carefully manage the costs of the investments we make while increasing program ministry revenue and lowering our overhead rate.
