Prison Adds Layers | Guatemala
Behind prison walls, Ángel recounts a powerful story of personal transformation and perseverance through Prison Project Philip. Initially facing uncertainty and doubt, Ángel describes his gradual awakening to faith. Despite the challenges of prison life, his journey reflects a commitment to learning and striving for spiritual growth.
“Prison Project Philip has allowed me to grow incredibly. At the beginning of the courses, I was uncertain about how I was going to do. I wondered, ‘Will it be possible to learn from these courses?’
As I listened to my teacher and read the material, carefully studying the words, little by little, I became sensitive and receptive to the teachings. I am learning and striving to put the lessons into practice. While I am not perfect, I make an effort to strive for perfection as much as possible. I can honestly say that I have truly learned from Philip. I hope to continue persevering as a person, allowing myself to be molded by God’s will and not by my own desires.
It hasn’t been easy. I’ve faced obstacles like everyone else, but being in prison adds a whole other layer of difficulty. Yet, God is my strength. I want to keep moving forward on my path, both here and beyond. I want to know more about God.
I want to be a blessing to others without difficulty. I’ve read the complete Gospel of John and was amazed at what the Lord has done in my life and what He can accomplish in others through me. I hope to continue persevering in my new self. Thank you, God.“
