A Call of Hope | Zambia

When Prudence’s father was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2019, life changed dramatically for her mother, Thandiwe. “Life became very difficult for my daughter,” said Beatrice, Prudence’s grandmother. “She was left alone with Prudence and had no way to provide for them.”

After being evicted from their home, Thandiwe and Prudence moved in with family—but soon left without telling anyone where they had gone. “We didn’t know where they were until weeks later, when I heard they were staying with a cousin.”

In 2022, everything changed when Beatrice got a call from The Child’s Journey team. “The person explained he was a caseworker and that she had been enrolled in their program.” Through the program, Prudence was enrolled in school, received supplies and food, and was matched with a mentor to help her grow spiritually and academically. “I no longer worry about Prudence’s food or school needs.”

The Child’s Journey continues to support the family with home visits and regular school check-ins. “Thank you for being there in our time of need. Your help and visits inspire us—just as Jesus said in Matthew 25:36.”
