Doris Girgis

Senior Manager, Engagement and Development

Doris Girgis manages the day-to-day operations for the Major Gifts team including project managing the end-to-end workflow, creating and implementing the marketing and communications plan, and liaising with other teams. Doris works closely with senior leadership on projects, strategy and donor engagement needs. 

Having worked in prison ministry for more than a decade, Doris has seen firsthand the power of transformation in the lives of incarcerated men and women, of second chances in the lives of returning citizens, and of restoration and reconciliation in the families of men and women behind bars.  

Committed to the vision of breaking the cycle of crime and restoring lives all over the world, Doris brings extensive experience in development, marketing and communications in the nonprofit world. She has worked with organizations implementing programs for child nutrition, health and education, homelessness, public safety, and criminal justice in countries like Egypt, South Africa, Brazil, Jamaica and the United States.   

Doris holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication from the American University in Cairo and is a certified development project manager (CDPM). She lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and three children, serves on the board of directors of a local food pantry, and loves reading and long walks with her Australian Shepherd.
