Coordinator, Donor Engagement

Position Overview

The Donor Engagement Coordinator works closely with the Senior Director of Development and Engagement to execute thoughtful and creative engagements for Prison Fellowship International’s mass donors. A creative storyteller with administrative giftings, this person interacts directly with donors in ways that will lead to their joyful ongoing support of the ministry. As the donor representative who communicates with the most donors to the ministry, they must be knowledgeable of all Prison Fellowship International programs, able to share key information, answer questions and cultivate strong relationships. They work closely and collaborate with both Donor Engagement and Marketing and Communications team members.

Core Responsibilities

Donor Servicing

  • Receives and responds to inquiries from constituents regarding Prison Fellowship International, donor accounts, program information and/or other relevant inquiries.
  • Resolves constituent problems, answers questions accurately while adhering to communication guidelines and offers options for an ongoing relationship with compassion.
  • Acknowledges donor communication and gifts in a timely manner.
  • Assists Account Services Coordinator as needed with gift and pledge stewardship, including:
  • Ensure gifts are accurately recorded and processed within CRM (Salesforce).
  • Maintain low levels of recurring donor delinquency and mitigate cancellation rates.

Individual Donor Engagement

  • Implement donor and sponsor servicing plans to acquire, cultivate and retain sponsors.
  • Create and manage reports and analyze data to inform results-driven servicing.
  • Produce compelling messaging for various donor communications.
  • Leverage digital communication tools to enhance and implement donor cultivation and acquisition strategy.

Administrative

  • Key database user and analyst; maintains high data integrity across relevant data sources such as Salesforce, Box and Mailchimp.
  • Receives, opens and sorts incoming direct mail gifts.
  • Maintains inventory of items used for donor engagement (i.e., letterhead, cards, envelopes, etc.).

Requirements

  • 2+ years in donor servicing or customer service-related fields.
  • Donor-centered, strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively verbally and in writing; comfort interacting with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Savvy with various multimedia and visual tools to create compelling communications.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in CRM sales (Salesforce preferred) and/or donor software, and ability to adapt and learn as needed.
  • Passionate about connecting people with their heart’s interest and empowering their generosity.
  • Curious, adaptable and creative.
  • Highly ethical and able to maintain confidential company, donor and beneficiary information.
  • Approaches role with a commitment to the mission and values of the Christian faith.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing, or similar concentration.

Work Status

  • Full-time position located at the PFI headquarters in Ashburn, VA
  • Must live in the DC metro area or be willing to relocate.

Junior Graphic Designer/Content Creator

Position Overview

Prison Fellowship International can tell a powerful story about the transformative and restorative power of Jesus in the lives of those in prison and their families through a global network of more than 120 affiliates. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will engage with diverse audiences across multiple channels through creative visual storytelling on behalf of the ministry. This person will balance critical thinking with creative storytelling and design to weave together authentic content and messaging that supports our mission and strengthens our brand. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will craft compelling content, use art and design to engage, inspire, cultivate trust, and use digital media tools to amplify the organization’s brand.

Core Responsibilities

Graphic Design/Content Creation

  • Brainstorm and design on-brand, compelling content and graphics for Prison Fellowship International’s social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn).
  • Assist with visual design and layout of brochures, postcards, reports, presentations, manuals, proposals, and emails.
  • Collaborate on creative media (i.e., graphics, videos, presentations) to promote PFI news, campaigns, and programs on digital platforms.
  • Transform data into engaging graphics, charts, and tables for use in grant proposals and other presentations and reports.
  • Edit corporate documents to ensure visual brand consistency and cohesion.
  • Provide design feedback about pfi.org to increase engagement and visual appeal of the website.

Photo and Video

  • Edit and retouch photos for social media, emails, blog posts, and other communications.
  • Edit videos, including improving audio, increasing stability, and captioning/transcribing for social media, emails, blog posts, and other communications.
  • Create promotional videos that vary in length and dimensions for Prison Fellowship International and its programs.
  • Organize visual assets by ensuring proper labeling and organization for easy access, identifying high-quality assets for use in the photo/video library, and archiving unusable assets.
  • When available, collect multimedia content from the field for various uses.

Administrative

  • Submit AP requests for accurate budget management.
  • Complete orders for materials as needed.
  • Manage contact list of contractors and pricing.

Requirements

  • Proven success in developing a strategic and creative online brand/presence in a professional capacity (work, internship, or school) and/or personally.
  • Attention to detail, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks, innovative problem-solving, cultural awareness, strong work ethic, flexibility, multitasking, and adaptability within a small team.
  • A keen eye for design and experience working within brand guidelines.
  • Knowledge of video and photo editing.
  • Proficiency or familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Canva, Hootsuite (or other social media scheduling platforms). Knowledge of Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Vimeo.
  • Must be able to sign the “Statement of Fath” and approach the role with a commitment to the mission and values of the Christian faith.

Education & Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree in public relations, Journalism, Marketing, Graphic Design, UI Design, or a similar concentration.
