Bethany MacDonald
Director, Prison Programs
Bethany MacDonald manages Prison Fellowship International’s suite of in-prison programming, specializing in program performance, reporting, monitoring and evaluation. She oversees the launch, implementation, effectiveness and scale of The Prisoner’s Journey, Sycamore Tree Project: Justice and Peace, Prison Project Philip and The Listener’s Way in more than 40 countries across the globe.
When she was a child, her father started an in-prison ministry. Like her father, Bethany believes in the transformative power of a relationship with Jesus Christ and wants to bring that hope and opportunity to others.
Before joining Prison Fellowship International in 2015, Bethany served in various legal roles, such as clerking for Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner LLP and as the contract technician for a national government job-order contractor. Additionally, she was the operational manager for a small but sprawling quick-service restaurant chain.
Bethany holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Politics from George Mason University, with a double minor in Legal Studies and Public Policy & Management. She enjoys sailing alongside her son, baking and working on her cut flower garden.
