Jhon, a graduate of The Listener’s Way, shared about how the program led him to a freedom deeper than physical release. “In the place I least expected, I discovered true freedom. My arrival at the penitentiary was not an accident, but the outcome of a difficult season marked by poor decisions. For a time, I lived with the mother of my daughter, but mounting pressures and wrong choices eventually pulled us apart, leaving a deep emptiness that I tried to fill in all the wrong ways. My involvement in theft and drug trafficking led to my arrest, and I was ultimately incarcerated in prison.

Although I grew up in a Christian family and had often heard about God’s love, I chose to ignore those seeds of faith and rely on my own judgment, a choice I now recognize as my greatest mistake. Yet God has a way of meeting us even in our darkest places. When I arrived at prison, surrounded by isolation and silence, I felt an urgent need to return to my Creator. It was there that I chose to surrender my life, once again, and begin serving Him. Today, I actively support The Listener’s Way, seeking to give back a portion of what I have received.

Though my body remains behind prison walls, my heart tells a different story. Each day, I thank God because even without physical freedom, I have found a deeper freedom in my mind and spirit. I have learned that the greatest prison is not a cell, but a life lived far from the presence of God.”
